Version 4.11.6

1 July 2024

Caldavar Map Testing (Public Beta)

  • North America/Europe and Thailand currently play on different variants of the Forests of Caldavar map.
  • Disadvantages of this setup include divided resources, balance conflicts, and difficult cross-region play.
  • We want to fix this and bring players together by introducing a new map that's familiar to both communities.
  • This map features the classic Thailand layout with modern updates and two symmetrical Kongor bosses.
  • The map is in Beta testing and can be played in Public matches and the new Unranked Matchmaking mode.

Unranked Matchmaking

  • Unranked mode allows everyone to queue together regardless of rank and is played on the New Caldavar (PBT) map.
  • Stats are recorded but MMR does not change. Leaving games or violating the Code of Conduct have the same consequences.
  • We hope to further improve the map with feedback to potentially become a unified version for Forests of Caldavar.

Matchmaking Improvements

  • TMM groups no longer disband when the leader leaves, now the group persists and group leadership passes to the next player.
  • Players can now send TMM group invites more than once, and no longer need to recreate the group to re-send invites.
  • Maximum allowed rating disparity between players has been slightly increased to significantly improve queue times.
  • Algorithm expanded to include relative strength of player pairs (orange/brown, yellow/dark green, purple/light blue, etc.).
  • Note: Please report any extremely unbalanced matchups in the #report-a-bug Discord channel to help with future adjustments.

User Interface (UI)

  • Last Seen on player profile now displays more detailed activity info.
  • Additional improvements to Russian stringtable translations.

      • Movement Speed Slow duration increased from 1.25 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
      • Damage value changed from 60/110/160/210 to 40 + 75%/100%/125%/150% of Attack Damage.

  • Hellbringer

      • Mana cost increased from 70/80/90/100 to 80/90/100/110.
    • Demonic Wave

  • Keeper of the Forest
    • Nature's Guidance
      • Reduced Magic damage per second when attacking an enemy unit out of Camouflage from 70 to 40.
      • Damage nerf due to the high damage, possibility of applying it twice in a row, and low counter-play options in the early game.
  • Martyr
    • Guardian Angel
      • Healing and positive health changes received by the target now properly reduces the accumulated damage of the state.
      • For example, if Guardian Angel has accumulated 1000 damage and you heal the target for 400 Health, the accumulated damage will be reduced to 1000 - 400 = 600 damage.
      • This also means that Martyr's Hand in Hand will properly reduce the accumulated damage from Guardian Angel.
  • Maliken
    • Initial Armor increased from 0.5 to 1.5.
    • Strength gain per level decreased from 3.5 to 3.
    • Hellbourne Zeal
      • Magic Armor for every 1% Health missing increased from 0.025/0.05/0.075/0.1 to 0.040/0.060/0.080/0.1.
    • Possession
      • Now grants 10/15/20 Armor for 3 seconds after transforming.
      • The initial armor increase aims to help Maliken during his laning phase at the cost of the substantial Strength gain per level nerf.
      • Also, the 3 seconds additional Armor after using his ultimate, aims to reduce the HP cost penalty slightly by providing a small window of survivability.
      • Credits to Dutchownage for the Initial Armor suggestion!
  • Monkey King
    • Flying Nimbus
      • Passive Movement Speed bonus reduced from 10/20/30% to 10/15/20% when active.
      • Effects are now removed from any damage source.
      • Flying Nimbus cooldown reduced from 5 to 4 seconds.

    • Agility gain per level reduced from 3.5 to 3.2

    • Moon Finale
      • Now when used turns the day into night time for 6/8/10 seconds
      • Moon Queen has been underperforming a lot due to its very low HP pool in the beginning and also the high mana cost single target nuke.
      • When compared to Forsaken's Archer, the latter could farm faster and provide more ganking potential while being much more safe.
      • With the new nightshift mechanic, heroes such as Solstice and Warbeast will benefit of the night time as much as Moon Queen.
      • These changes aim to better empower Moon Queen in the early game and make her a more viable hard-carry choice.
  • Myrmidon
    • Initial Intelligence increased from 24 to 26.
    • Initial Attack damage increased from 48-55 to 50-57.
    • Weed Field
      • Mana cost reduced from 100/105/110/115 to 90/95/100/105.
    • Magic Carp
      • Movement Speed Slow increased from 30% to 40%.
      • Mana cost reduced from 95/100/105/110 to 85/90/95/100.
    • Forced Evolution
      • After evolving, 70/120/170 Superior Magic Cleave damage is now granted by default by the base ability.
      • Cooldown reduced from 60 seconds to 50 seconds (30s downtime).
      • Myrmidon effectiveness is reduced very fast letting the hero without options to scale or provide enough utility.
      • With the increase in his Mana Pool, decrease of his abilities Mana cost and the ability to farm with his ultimate, these changes will help Myrmidon to stay relevant in further stages of the match.
  • Ophelia
    • Ophelia's Judgment
      • Now can be cast on self resulting in teleporting your Minions around you after a 3 seconds delay
      • QoL change longtime due since being far-away from your Minions makes Ophelia almost useless.
  • Pearl
    • Asphyxiate
      • Damage rescaled from 40 + 100/150/180/210 to 40 + 80/130/170/210.
    • Soothing Presence
      • Passive Health regeneration per hero decreased from 1.2/1.6/2/2.4 to 1/1.4/1.8/2.2.
      • Leap lifetime increased from 0.75 to 1.25 second.
      • Pearl was slightly overbuffed in the last patch so in order to address it, we are applying some nerfs.
  • Pestilence
    • Flight
      • 2nd Activation Flight range increase from 450/700/950/1200 to 600/750/900/1050.
      • Flight Speed rescaled from 1150 to 800/1000/1200/1400.
      • Curvature of the leap has been changed.
      • No longer receives an additional 8% damage while Flight is active.
    • Gore
      • In addition to the existing effects, while off-cooldown, killing a lane creep launches the creep's corpse at 900 speed in 700 units in the direction that Pestilence is facing.
      • If the corpse hits an enemy hero it deals 40/60/80/100 Physical damage, applies a 0.5/0.55/0.6/0.65 second Stun and disappears.
      • Credits to doooooood for the Gore and Flight effects suggestion!
      • Increasing Pestilence laning presence with Gore and reducing its necessity for a Portal Key with Flight, will enable further itemization options and hero viability.
  • Predator
    • Venomous Leap
      • Magic Damage increased from 75/125/175/225 to 100/150/200/250
      • Restrained effect increased from 2 seconds to 2.25/2.5/2.75/3 seconds
      • Venomous effect rescaled from 2/3/4/5 seconds to 2.75/3.5/4.25/5 seconds
      • Applies 2 terror charges instead of 1
    • Stone Hide
      • Now passively 1/2/3/4 Armor
      • Active Armor granted reduced from 3/6/9/12 to 2/4/6/8
      • Predator has been disregarded due to the fact that it can be easily kited.
      • These changes aim to improve Predator's closing gap skills while also enabling it to better sustain in the early stages of the game.
  • Prophet
    • Invigorate
      • Cooldown increased from 8 to 10 seconds
      • Mana Cost increased from 65 to 60/70/80/90
      • Ability range decreased from 800 to 650/675/700/725
      • Prophet has been slightly overperforming mostly due to his Invigorate low mana cost, low cooldown and effective healing capabilities.
  • Pyromancer
    • Dragonfire
      • Cast range increased from 625 to 640/655/670/685.
    • Fervor
      • Passive cast speed on learn increased from 15/30/45/60 to 30/45/60/75.
      • Attack speed per charge rescaled from 15/30/45/60 to 10/20/45/60.
      • Now can be activated, instantly granting Pyromancer 3 Fervor charges, costing 50 Mana and placing the spell in cooldown for 45 seconds.
      • Pyromancer's low HP pool and no survivability tools paired with the high frequency of ganks in the mid lane, makes the hero punishable very easily.
      • The Fervor changes aims to provide Pyromancer with effects that will help him in all stages of the game, especially early on.
  • Swiftblade
    • Blade Frenzy
      • No longer dispel buffs
      • Damage reduced while active removed
    • Counterattack
      • Counterattack active duration changed to 1.6/1.9/2.2/2.5 seconds (from 2 seconds if without staff and from 1.5 seconds if with staff)
      • Removing Blade Frenzy down-sides will enable a better carry presence in later stages of the game while keeping his early game presence similar.

Items

  • Barrier Idol
    • Active Barrier effect post-mitigation Magic Damage increased from 300 Heroes / 600 Non-Heroes units to 400 Heroes / 700 Non-Hero units
    • For the first 5 seconds, absorbs additional 200 Magic Damage on Non-Heroes units (900 in total)
    • During the 5 seconds duration, a yellow flashing to the Barrier Idol animation was added on Non-Heroes units to show the additional health shield effect.
    • Increases the utility of the item while also enabling pushing bases easier as high magic damage Heroes won't be able to clear creeps waves with only a few spells early on.
  • Insanitarius
    • Reduced toggle cooldown from 5 seconds to 3 seconds
    • Insanitarius Effects changed (in addition to the current ones):
    • Additional damage decreased from 32 to 10
    • Attack Speed boost increased from 10 to 25
    • Health removed per second reduced from 40 to 35
    • Negated if current HP is lower than 100
    • 25% slow resistance
    • Insanitarius has been underperforming and is one of the few Attack Speed sources for Strength heroes. These changes aim to enable them by providing Attack Speed and more sustainability with the lower toggle CD and the reduced HP/s penalty.
  • Iron Shield
    • Buildup changed: Iron Buckler (225) + Duck Boots (150) + Recipe (150) = 525 Gold (Same price)
    • Block chance reduced from 80% to 70%.
    • Cannot be disassembled anymore
    • Nerf to make it an early-game item commitment that components cannot be recycled later on in the game.
    • Please note that the item CANNOT be disassembled anymore.
  • Lunar Tear
    • Cooldown increased from 5 seconds to 20 seconds
    • Prevents players spamming it early on as a cheap and fast mana regen source.
  • Power Supply
    • Max charges changed from 15 to 20.
    • Aim is for Power Supply to be considered a non-support item.
  • Sacrificial Stone (Reworked)
    • Buildup: Battery (200) + Pretender's Crown (165) + Mark of the Novice (150) + Recipe (185) = 700 Gold Total.
    • Max charges: 10.
    • Each charge grants 14 HP (prior Healing Done effect) and 25 Mana.
    • At 10 charges, heals 147 HP and 250 Mana for Melee Heroes, 160 HP and 250 Mana for Ranged Heroes.
    • Passively grants:
    • 2 Strength, 2 Agility, 5 Intelligence.
    • Additional Healing Done based on the owner's Attack Range (+ 5% Melee / +15% Ranged).
    • On death, heals 50 HP in a 1200 radius and reduces the death timer on self by 8 seconds upon death.
    • Now when charged, gives an Aura that grants +2 to all Stats to allies (but not to yourself).
    • Jeraziah's Inner Light (Q) and Accursed's Cauterize (Q), Sear (E) and Flame Consumption (R) benefits from 15% Healing.
    • The previous version was too convenient and provided too much survivability for its cost.
    • Indeed, the high Strength provided paired with Power Supply effects, made the item so efficient that there was no reason to skip it on any hero or occasion.
    • With these changes, we aim to lower the overall HP pool enabling ganking opportunities and heroes that rely on early hero kills such as Grinex, Blood Hunter, etc.
  • Shadow Mist (Consumable, New item)
    • Costs 300 Gold.
    • Initial Stock 0, Max 2.
    • Restock time: 15 minutes.
    • Cooldown: 120 seconds.
    • Active ability: give yourself, nearby allies and allied units Veil Rot invisibility and +20% Movement Speed in 800 radius for 30 seconds.
    • Added to the Supplies Item category
    • Added to the Secret Shop in both jungles.
    • Veiled rot in an AoE.
    • Every 15 minutes, a team will be able to better create high impact coordinated actions that incentivizes more teamwork and team communication.
  • Protective Talisman (New item)
    • Buildup: Iron Buckler (250) + Guardian Ring (175) + Nihil Crystal (200) + Recipe (25) = 650 Gold Total
    • Cannot be disassembled
    • Passive Bonuses:
    • 2 Armor
    • Gives an 80% chance to block 20 Damage when attacked by a Hero if wielder is a Melee Hero. Only 10 damage is blocked for Ranged Heroes.
    • The chance to block damage is 50% when attacked by non-hero targets.
    • Passive Effect:
    • Applies Nihil Crystal for 10 seconds upon taking an instance of an attempted 60+ non-DoT Spell Damage while off cooldown then places the item on cooldown.
    • Regenerates 40 Health and 20 Mana over duration (4 HP/s & 2 Mana/s)
    • Cooldown: 20 seconds.
    • A non-Agility hero early-game defensive option to Iron Shield. It pairs the best effects of Iron Buckler with Nihil Crystal.
    • Credits to Dutchownage for this new item suggestion!

  • Armadon
    • Restless
    • Decrease of the passive stacking damage increase of Spine Burst per charge from 10/14/16 to 8/12/16
    • Slight adjustment of Armadon's early damage output post buff
  • Fayde
    • Cull
    • Reduced the illusions damage from 10/12/14/16% of target's attack damage to 10%
    • The intention was to offer Fayde better scalability throughout the game but her overall output damage was a bit overtuned punishing carries late-game too much.
  • Salomon
    • Wish for Power
    • Damage to Neutral Creeps only when this ability is Level 2 or higher.
    • This change aims to fulfill the last patch intention that was to stop Salomon from jungling in the start of the game thus forcing him to lane.
  • Tremble
    • Strength gain decrease corrected from 2.7 to 2.6
    • Agility gain decrease corrected from 2.2 to 2.7
    • The STR and AGI gain per level nerfs were inverted. Initially, the plan was to apply an AGI gain decrease from 2.8 to 2.7, and a STR gain decrease from 2.8 to 2.2. Additionally, the STR nerf to 2.2 proved to be too harsh, it was finally set at 2.6.

Design

Staff of the Master & Master's Legacy Changes

  • Armadon
    • Snot Storm
      • Staff of the Master effect additions (to pre-existing):
      • When used, Snot Storm applies to an enemy hero and then bounces to a random hero in a 600 radius twice.
  • Balphagore
    • Hell on Newerth
      • Staff of the Master effect changes (to pre-existing):
      • Radius decreased from 1000 to 800.
      • No longer decreases base ability cooldown.
      • Balphagore becomes a little too oppressive after obtaining Staff of the Master.
      • Mitigating the benefits of the radius increase and removing the cooldown reduction removes the overloaded benefits from obtaining Staff of the Master.
  • Bombardier
    • Air Strike!
      • Staff of the Master effect changes (to pre-existing):
      • Damage type changed from Magic Damage to Superior Magic Damage.
  • Electrician
    • Electric Shield
      • Staff of the Master effect changes (to pre-existing):
      • Total damage absorbed reduced from 0.75/0.95/1.15/1.35 to 0.6/0.75/0.9/1.05x Mana consumed.
    • Cleansing Shock
      • Staff of the Master effect changes (to pre-existing):
      • Mana cost increased from 0 to 25.
      • Chain count reduced from 1/2/3 to 0/1/2.
  • Wretched Hag
    • Bat Blast
      • Staff of the Master effect changes (to pre-existing):
      • Damage type changed from Magic to Superior Magic.
      • Cooldown increased from 60 seconds to 80 seconds.
    • For context, Wretched Hag's Bat Blast (when not boosted by Staff of the Master) has been changed from Superior Magic to Magic.
    • These changes will be listed further down in the patch notes.

Heroes (Balance)

  • Armadon
    • Snot Storm
      • Maximum charges increased from 4 to 5.
    • Spine Burst
      • Damage increased from 20/40/60/80 to 25/45/65/85.
    • Restless
      • Passively increases the stacking damage of Spine Burst per charge from 4/8/12 to 10/14/16.
      • Armadon outputs a decent amount of damage in the early game, but tapers off a little too quickly when mid/late game arrives.
      • These changes (combined with the Staff of the Master changes to Snot Storm) allow him to keep up in damage for the mid/late game phase.
  • Balphagore
    • Hell on Newerth
      • Volatile Minion's Attack Damage reduced from 25/45/85 - 30/50/90 to a flat 20/40/80.
  • Electrician
    • Intelligence gain per level decreased from 1.8 to 1.5.
    • Electric Shield
      • Shield Health reduced from 0.75/0.9/1.05/1.2x Mana spent to 0.6/0.75/0.9/1.05x Mana spent.
      • Electrician's survivability from Electric Shield was too high for a large portion of the game. This change dampens his survivability to a more reasonable power level.
  • Fayde
    • Cull
      • Now spawns an uncontrollable illusion of each enemy hero hit for 3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds that deals 10/12/14/16% of the target's Attack Damage.
      • Illusions receive 350% damage.
      • Target is Sighted and Revealed for this duration.
    • Burning Shadows
      • Target is now also Revealed while the Shadow Copy is active.
    • Fayde's illusion spawning mechanic has proven to be an excellent counterpick in niche situations (e.g., against Magebane).
    • Having Fayde spawn more illusions through Cull rewards her just a little bit more for its close range requirement, while also helping Fayde scale just a little bit better through the mid/late game.
  • Forsaken Archer
    • Split Fire
      • Secondary arrows damage reduced from 25/35/45/55% to 15/25/35/45%.
    • Piercing Arrows
      • Magic Damage per arrow reduced from 85/135/185 to 75/125/175.
  • Goldenveil
    • Perch & Plunge
      • Now sets the Perch cooldown to 1.75/1.5/1.25/1 second(s) upon taking non-DoT damage from enemy heroes/player-controlled units.
      • While perching, Stun duration to self increased from 1 second to 2 seconds (if the tree he is perching on is destroyed).
      • Goldenveil is a frustrating hero to play against, and is often too slippery to punish if you don't have the correct tools to cut down the tree he is perching on.
      • These changes force the Goldenveil player to manually jump off a tree (by issuing a Move command), and also better punishes Goldenveil for being perched on a tree at the wrong time.
  • Hammerstorm
    • Hammer Throw
      • Mana cost decreased from 140 to 105/110/115/120.
      • Stun duration rescaled from 2 seconds to 1.9/2/2.1/2.2 seconds.
      • Cooldown rescaled from 13 seconds to 15/14/13/12 seconds.
    • Galvanize
      • Grants 1/2/3/4 Armor to allies for 5 seconds upon activation.
      • This effect does not apply to Hammerstorm.
    • Mighty Swing
      • Splash amount increased from 20/30/40/50% to 30/40/50/60%.
    • Brute Strength
      • Bonus Base Damage increased from 50/100/150% to 80/115/150%.
      • These changes will put Hammerstorm more in line with other melee carry heroes.
  • Hellbringer
    • Initial Intelligence increased from 20 to 24.
    • Starting Attack Damage increased from 47-57 to 49-59.
    • Even though Hellbringer is getting his Intelligence increased by 4 additional points, the overall base damage will only be increased by 2 damage to be more consistent with other INT heroes.
    • Demon Strike
      • Mana cost reduced from 100 to 70/80/90/100.
    • Demonic Wave
      • Mana cost reduced from 100/120/140/160 to 90/110/130/150.
    • Evil Presence
      • Cast Range increased from 800 to 1200.
      • Hellbringer's kit is a little too mana-intensive, so the changes here allow him to use his spells just a little more liberally.
      • Increasing the range of Evil Presence allows Hellbringer to aim the skill from a safer distance - Hellbringer is just a little too fragile to comfortably cast Evil Presence without the Cast Range increase.
  • Magebane
    • Base Strength reduced from 22 to 20.
    • Mana Combustion
      • Mana Burn reduced from (15/20/25/30 + 3/4/5/6% of target's Maximum Mana) to (10/16/23/30 + 2.4/3.6/4.8/6% of the target's Maximum Mana).
    • Flash of Anti-Magic
      • Magic Damage reduced from 35/55/75/95 to 15/35/55/75.
      • Movement Speed Slow reduced from 20/25/30/35% to 17/23/29/35%.
      • Mana Combustion and Flash of Anti-Magic now have reduced effectiveness at levels 1 and 2. This will result in less "free" damage upon blinking & hitting an enemy hero in the laning phase.
      • These changes (combined with the base Strength reduction) will help ensure that Magebane has more counterplay and less overall effectiveness at early levels in the laning phase, while still being able to excel in the mid game.
  • Martyr
    • Hand in Hand
      • Cast range increased from 600 to 700.
  • Nitro
    • Attack Range decreased from 600 to 575.
    • Ballistic
      • Magic Damage per shrapnel decreased from 7/14/21/28 to 6/12/18/24.
    • Blast Off
      • Changed the interaction of the ability: instead of binding affected enemies to a projectile, the effect was replaced by a push.
      • Instead of Stunning affected enemies, it now Silences, Immobilizes and Disarms them for 0.75 seconds.
      • No longer blasts targets over objects, trees or cliffs. If the target hits a wall, tree or a cliff, it will not be pushed past it.
    • Three's a Crowd
      • Bonus Movement speed increased from 30/60/90/120 to 40/75/110/145.
    • Overdrive
      • Cast Range decreased from 600 to 575.
      • These changes make Nitro's damage output a little more manageable in the laning phase.
      • Changing the mechanical behavior of Blast Off also allows additional counterplay against Nitro through the use of Homecoming Stone or Post Haste.
  • Nymphora
    • Volatile Pod
      • Magic Damage & Heal Buildup reduced from Base of 40 + 40/60/80/100 per second to Base of 40 + 30/50/70/90 per second.
      • Potential maximum Magic Damage/heal reduced from 160/220/280/340 to 130/190/250/310.
  • Pearl
    • Asphyxiate
      • Magic Damage on the bubble explosion increased from 80/140/160/180 to 100/150/180/210.
    • Soothing Presence
      • Passive Health Regeneration per hero increased from 0.8/1.2/1.6/2.0 to 1.2/1.6/2/2.4.
      • Leap range increased from 600 to 600/675/750/825.
    • Preservation
      • Damage Reduction against enemies on the other side of the affected area increased from 30/50/70% to 45/60/75%.
  • Salomon
    • Wish for Wealth
      • Can be used on Neutral Creeps only when this ability is Level 2 or higher.
      • This change will disallow Salomon from jungling effectively between hero levels 1-2, which forces him to lane.
      • Salomon is still effective when he can secure farm against an enemy suicide lane, as his early gold advantage accelerates his snowball potential much more quickly than other carry heroes.
  • Tremble
    • Agility gain decreased from 2.8 to 2.7.
    • Strength gain decreased from 2.8 to 2.2.
  • Valkyrie
    • Valkyrie's Prism
      • Duration decreased from 18 seconds to 12/14/16 seconds.
      • Now grants assists to Valkyrie only when an affected allied hero kills an enemy hero only if Valkyrie is within 1700 range (as opposed to Globally).
  • Vindicator
    • Sage's Lore
      • Magic Damage increased from 85/140/195/250 to 95/150/205/260.
    • Glyph of Silence
      • Totem takes 2 attacks to be destroyed (currently it lingers until it receives an attack).
  • Wretched Hag
    • Bat Blast
      • Cast effect type and Damage type changed from Superior Magic to Magic.
      • Cooldown reduced from 135 seconds to 135/120/105 seconds.
      • Bat Blast was too good of an Area of Effect ultimate ability to remain having a Superior Magic cast effect type.
  • War Beast
    • Metamorphosis
      • Cooldown decreased from 115/95/70 seconds to 100/80/60 seconds.
  • Warchief
    • Warcry
      • Ability can no longer be dispelled or purged.
      • Duration decreased from 12 seconds to 8/10/12 seconds.
      • Mana Cost increased from 100 to 100/150/200.
      • Cooldown increased from 140/110/80 seconds to 140/120/100 seconds.
      • Warchief's kit was made obsolete too often by abilities or items that purge Warcry.
      • While this weakness was removed, the ability did receive some other changes to better ensure that Warchief will not spiral out of control.
      • Time will tell if Warcry will require further adjustments in the future.

Items

  • New Item: Oblivion Hammer
    • Components: Brutalizer (2850 Gold) + Helm of the Black Legion (2175 Gold) + Recipe (975 Gold) = 6000 Gold Total

    • Cannot be used on a target that has been previously affected by Overwhelmed within the last 7 seconds.
    • Oblivion Hammer allows frontline heroes to pick up some hard Crowd Control (for an expensive price) while primarily focusing on building survivability.
  • Brutalizer
    • Component buildup changed to: Halberd (1000 Gold) + Halberd (1000 Gold) + Bolstering Armband (450 Gold) + Recipe (400) = 2850 Gold Total.
    • Total cost reduced from 3400 gold to 2850 gold.
    • Attack Damage bonus reduced from 40 to 35.
    • Strength bonus reduced from 12 to 10.
    • Proc damage (Physical) increased from 70 to 100.
    • This change places Brutalizer at a more reasonable price point.
  • Halberd
    • Now passively grants 10 Attack Damage.
    • No longer gives chance for True Strike.
    • On attack impact, chance to proc reduced from 30% to 15% (10% when wielded by a Ranged unit).
  • Mock of Brilliance
    • Component buildup changed to: Sword of the High (3400) + Snake Bracelet (1000) + Recipe (400).
    • Total cost increased from 4750 Gold to 4800 Gold.
    • Now grants 15% Evasion.
  • Runed Cleaver
    • Recipe Cost reduced from 550 Gold to 150 Gold.
    • Total Cost decreased from 4000 Gold to 3600 Gold.
    • Attack Damage bonus decreased from 40 to 30.
    • Bonus Damage dealt to creeps increased from 30 to 40.
    • These changes place Runed Cleaver at a slightly cheaper price point, while also making it slightly more focused towards farming over hero-killing.
  • Sacrificial Stone
    • Passive Strength, Agility and Intelligence bonus reduced from 8 to 7.
    • No longer grants extra Strength or Agility when Sacrificial Stone is in its "glowing" state (after getting an assist or kill).
    • Intelligence gain when Sacrificial Stone is in its "glowing" state (after getting an assist or kill) reduced from 10 to 9.
  • Savage Mace
    • Component buildup changed to: Slayer (2200 Gold) + Warhammer (1600 Gold) + Alacrity Band (1200 Gold) + Halberd (1000 Gold) = 6000 Gold Total.
    • Total cost increased from 4300 Gold to 6000 Gold.
    • Physical Damage dealt upon proccing increased from 120 to 130.
    • Attack Damage bonus increased from 55 to 60.
    • Now grants +30 Attack Speed.
    • Chance to gain True Strike increased from 85% to 100%.
    • Can now be disassembled.
    • Savage Mace is now a glass cannon item for autoattack carries.
    • It can be picked up to pre-emptively counter Wingbow without having to explicitly be picked up to counter Wingbow (or be a reactive pickup to counter Wingbow).
    • Now that Savage Mace can be disassembled, it is on a more equal playing field compared to Wingbow, and can also be disassembled upon seeing an enemy player disassemble Wingbow if the player wishes to re-use Savage Mace's components to build other items.
  • Whispering Helm
    • Cooldown after dominating a Neutral creep decreased from 720 seconds (12 minutes) to 480 seconds (8 minutes).
    • Cooldown reduction of the item is reduced from 50% to 75% of Whispering Helm's cooldown duration when the dominated creep is killed.
  • Wingbow
    • No longer passively grants an additional 5 Agility to melee heroes.

Bug Fixes and Optimizations

User Interface (UI) Improvements
  • Added a "Buy Remaining Items" shop hotkey
    • Allows the action of right-clicking an item in the shop (purchase remaining components) to be assigned to a hotkey.
    • This allows the player to complete the whole buying action easily with the keyboard.
  • Added an option to hide the "Caldavar Help" tip at the start of a game in the Forests of Caldavar map.
    • A checkbox with the label "Disable This Tip" has been added to the popup window when you click on the "Caldavar Help" tip
  • Updated the Old UI's matchmaking tabs and labels
    • Renamed "Co-Op" and "PvP" to "Bot Match" and "Mid Wars", respectively
    • Removed sub-labels "AI Enemies" and "Human Enemies"
    • Added MMR display for Ranked mode, fixed MMR display for Mid Wars
  • Updated UI Match History Remake rows
    • Minor cleanup for previously added displays for Match Remakes and Server Name

  • Added a "Favourites" filter to Learnatorium hero list
    • A toggle button with a star icon was added to the top-left section of the Learnatorium window.
  • Added an optional "Dynamic Graphics" option to the Options menu.
    • This feature switches graphics settings when entering or leaving a match.
    • Main benefits include lower resource usage and improved multitasking experience in-between games.
    • This option is Disabled by default.
  • Custom Account Icons are now correctly loaded if the number at the end of the icon file name exceeds 1 digit.
Heroes
  • Prophet
    • The Blind Prophet avatar now has continuously rotating flying bird visual effects around himself upon gaining levels in his Shared Fate ability.

Version 4.10.2

10 December 2022

Design

Map

Forests of Caldavar
  • The map has been redecorated for Winter by HON OMG.

Heroes

  • Magebane
    • Strength gain per level increased from 2.5 to 2.6.
    • Base Strength increased from 21 to 22.
    • Flash of Anti-Magic
      • Magic Damage Shield Health increased from 30/55/80/105 to 40/70/100/130.
      • No longer deals 30/55/80/105 Magic Damage to nearby enemies when the shield breaks from Magic Damage.
      • Now deals 35/55/75/95 Magic Damage in target radius after teleporting.
      • Movement Speed Slow increased from 15/20/25/30% to 20/25/30/35%.
    • Master of the Mantra
      • Attack Speed bonus granted to Magebane when attacking an enemy hero increased from 16/24/32/40 to 20/30/40/50.
  • Magebane was overnerfed in 4.10.1 due to the removal of burst damage on Flash of Anti-Magic, which was the only significant change that resulted in a large drop in win rate.
  • Giving him a small portion of burst damage on Flash of Anti-Magic will resolve most of his issues (along with reverting a few of the other nerfs).
  • This will allow Magebane to have a menacing (yet manageable) early game that largely dictates his success throughout the game.

Items

  • Nihil Crystal
    • Cooldown reduced from 30 seconds to 20 seconds.
    • Nihil Crystal was not providing as impactful sustain as originally intended.
    • This change makes the item more comparable to that of similar laning phase sustain items, such as Mana Battery.

Version 4.10.1.10

15 November 2022

General

  • The ghastly spirits which have been haunting Newerth have dissipated into thin air. No longer being afraid to come out of their burrows, the antlores have cleaned up all the rotting pumpkins and brushed away the thick spiderwebs. Newerth has survived Halloween once again... until next year.
  • The ACD hack has been partially blocked.
  • The TMM queue status window width has been increased.
  • Fixed a LUA bug that caused players queuing on the AUTO region to be incorrectly put back in the queue even after finding a match, leading to those players being marked as leavers.
  • Fixed a missing category separator on the Game Vanity dropdown menu in the store.
  • Updated the launcher and the updater.

Version 4.10.1.8

10 October 2022

General

  • Forests of Caldavar and MidWars has been fully reworked for Halloween, courtesy of HON OMG and whyzozerious.
  • A "Rename Account" option has been added to the store.
  • MidWars was re-added to the old UI. We apologize for accidentally removing the option.
  • Team Matchmaking is now displaying your place in the queue, and how many players you are currently matched with. This number is only an estimate and can fluctuate, but the lower your place in the queue is, the more likely that you will find a match.
  • Team Matchmaking has been tweaked to relax the constraints after 20 and 30 minutes, at which point you are almost guaranteed to find a match (assuming there are 10 or more players in the queue). Rare exceptions apply where group sizes prevent a match from starting (e.g. 3 groups of 4 players will not form a match-up despite having 12 players in queue).
  • AUTO region has been tuned to only start games on servers with less than 130ms ping.
  • Minor localization fixes.
